Fair Isle Socks

We love the patterning from the 2-color knitting that fair isle produces. Introduce yourself to the technique with a charming sock. A personal favorite way to knit around the shop, you will soon fall in love with the results!

Yes, we’ve all seen the mysterious and intimidating boxes with strange symbols. How on earth does on translate that into a beautiful knitted project? Amanda is here to help solve the mystery. Soon, you’ll only be interested in a pattern if it includes the chart!
Holy Striped Hat Batman!
Sundays, Feb 17, 24 1:00 – 3:00pm

A great introduction to color knitting, this striped hat is designed to fit anyone. Getting great stripes in the round requires some tips that prevent the typical ‘jog’ when changing colors. Come learn how to get them to appear ‘flawless’ and Batman approved! Second class session is 1/2 hour
Monsters Alive!

This charming little monster by Rebecca Strange is a great little skill builder. It uses 3-needle bind off, stripes using the jogless jog, kitchener grafting and more! Step up your skills to the next level and gain a new pal in the process.
Beginning Crochet
Sundays, March 3, 10, 17, 24 1 pm – 3 pm
4 sessions, $45
In this class geared towards beginners with no crochet experience, we start with a slip knot and chain stitch. We’ll be building skills with 4 stitch patterns and finishing techniques to make a charming scarf.

You want the secrets to great socks, and we have the answers. Come and learn what everyone is talking about! Hand knit socks can be the most comfortable socks you will ever wear, and make a great gift for you or someone else. We will meet for three sessions and work through your first sock. We have lots of choices when it comes to socks: different styles of toes, heels and cuffs. This fun class lets you see and explore the options to make every pair of sock you make your favorite. Can’t decide which style to use? Let our ‘dice of chance’ make the decision for you. Join this fun class and see how other options work up.
Irish Crochet Pillow

We love the charm of Irish crochet, and this pillow will win you over as well. Based on a cabbage rose on the front, and a solid granny on the back, this is sure to be a favorite for your home.
Knitting With Silk Hankies *
Saturday, Jun 8 10:00 – Noon
1 session, $20
No spinning required. Silk hankies are not a woven fabric, but a stack of silk cocoons that can be separated and drafted for knitting or spinning. Work with one layer at a time to create something beautiful!
Linen Stitch Scarf *

Needle Felting with a Silk Scarf *

At last – something for everyone, regardless of skill level! We’ve gotten beautiful hand-dyed silk scarf kits, that include the color-coordinated wools and bits for needle felting. Create a one-of-a-kind piece for yourself. Kit is $37 less 10% class discount. You will also need felting needles.

Drop Spindle Spinning Workshop *
Saturday, July 20, 10:00 – Noon
1 session, $20
In this workshop, we give you the pieces to make your own basic drop spindle. Next is the wool to start learning ‘park and draft’ method of spinning on the drop spindle. Material fee of $30 includes drop spindle and fiber to get started.

Beginning Knitting Next Project – 4 Week Cardigan
Sundays, Sept 8, 15, 22, 29 1:00 – 3:00pm

Yes, you CAN make a sweater, and we’ll help. You know the basics, but still aren’t sure enough for a bigger project. In this skill builder, we cover pattern reading, sweater shaping, short rows, 3-needle bind-off, picking up stitches, button holes, and finishing/seaming. Don’t be intimidated by this list!
Fixing Mistakes
Saturday, Oct 6 1:00 – 3:00 pm
1 sessions, $20
We’ve all been there. Don’t rip it – learn to fix it! We’ll show you how to catch dropped, incomplete and twisted stitches, what to do if you forget a yarn over, and LOADS more with this comprehensive mistakes class. $20
You will need: A swatch, on needles. 1 extra needle in the same size (any length); one tapestry needle, crochet hook, scrap yarn.

Our Class Policies
- All paid classes include 10% discount on supplies.
- Materials used in our classes must be purchased at Knit and Caboodle. Your support helps to keep the cost of our classes low.
- Please register for classes in advance so our instructors can be prepared for the number of students. Classes may be cancelled if a minimum number of students is not met.
- Sorry, there will be no refunds within 7 days of class, unless class was cancelled by the shop.
- Have fun! Wool wants to love you back!
- We ask that all students be on time for class.
- For the courtesy of others, please turn cell phones and pagers off during class.
- No wool huffing during class. Studies have shown this makes your brain too loopy to concentrate on your project.
